How long are records retained?

That is your firm's decision, set by Retention mode and the Retention window you configure:

  • No retention (ephemeral) — nothing kept
  • Standard — kept for the window you set
  • Compliance (WORM) — kept for the regulatory minimum, immutably

Agree these with your CCO before changing them. Shortening a retention window does not undo what WORM has already locked.
